Eric Cantona is one of the greatest soccer players to ever draw a breath, but as he says in a Joga Bonito video "alone you are just a vine". He could never excel like he did without a great supporting cast.

Ryan Giggs

Ryan Joseph Giggs born November 29, 1973 in Cardiff) is a Welsh footballer currently playing for Manchester United in the English Premiership. He has been touted as a talent since he was discovered as a child at age 14, and often receives comparisons to the legendary George Best. By 1992 Giggs was firmly established as United's first choice left winger, and became known as one of British football's most prodigious young players. His ability to consistently dribble past opposing players by using his own exceptional balance, pace, and skill became the most noticeable aspect of his game. He was also renowned for pre-meditating celebrations with team-mates. His emergence and the arrival of Eric Cantona heralded the dominance of United in the new Premier League. Cantona once claimed Giggs had a telepathic connection with him that allowed the duo to work so well together. With Giggs alongside Eric Cantona Manchester United won over 11 trophies in just 5 years, and many say they would've won more had Cantona not been sidelined for various reasons for the better part of 2 of the 5 years. They were part of a team that became the only professional soccer team in history to be champions of their league (English Premier League), domestic cup (FA Cup), and Europe all at once. Eric Cantona is god and this pair is a match made in heaven.

David Robert Joseph Beckham, born May 2, 1975, is an English professional football (soccer) midfielder who currently plays for and captains Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy. He is also currently a member of the England national team. He has twice been runner-up for FIFA World Player of the Year, and as recently as 2004 was the world's highest-paid footballer. He was Google's most searched of all sports topics in both 2003 and 2004. Such global recognition has made him an elite advertising brand and a top fashion icon.
David Beckham was naught but a youngster when he shared the field with Cantona, but the finishing, crossing, and chemistry he provided were invaluable to the team's success. Beckham admired Eric and dedicated an entire chapter of his biography to him. The duo truly helped make Manchester United the profitable and successful club it is today. They won over 11 trophies together in under five years. Beckham took Eric's number 7 jersey after he retired to honor the former captain. United, until this past 2006-2007 campaign, had not won a trophy since these two fantastic players left.
